Tasty Ramen MATR style

Everyone loves ramen – but it’s a bit of an art to get the real Japanese brew 100% right. So lower your shoulders and hop on this quick-fix version of the all-in-one soup, topped with crispy MATR Block pieces. It’s time to slurp.
Ingredients
- 1 packet MATR Block
- 300 g mushrooms, e.g. brown mushrooms, portobello or shiitake
- 5 dl water
- 1 veggie stock cube
- 1 large tablespoon miso
- Shoyu to taste
- 2 eggs, cooked until soft (6 minutes)
- 2 packs instant noodles or homemade
- 2-3 spring onions
- 2 carrots cut into matchsticks or equivalent mini carrots
- Fresh chilli in thin slices
- Sprinkle with seaweed and/or chilli flakes
- Fresh coriander
Method
- Break the MATR block into small pieces and fry in a little oil in a medium hot pan until dark brown in color.
- Sprinkle with a little salt.
- Add water, miso, shoyu and sliced mushrooms to a pan and bring to a simmer.
- Season the soup with a little sugar, lime or whatever you think it needs.
- Cut the spring onions into thin, diagonal slices.
- Place instant or pre-cooked noodles in two pre-warmed bowls.
- Pour over the hot soup, but hold back the mushrooms.
- Add toppings to the soup, as shown in the photo.
- Serve our Tasty Ramen while it’s still piping hot.
