With our MATR Mince you get juiciness, bite and depth in every dish. Let it develop a golden colour in a frying pan or spread its flavour through a simmering stew. No matter which cooking method you use, MATR Mince holds its structure and rich umami taste.
The reason for that is that we have brought together five simple Nordic ingredients through fermentation.

While your MATR Mince sizzles in the pan, take a moment to glance at our short ingredient list.
What stands out straight away is that MATR Mince contains just a handful of simple ingredients. You might wonder how the product achieves its rich flavour and depth with so few. The answer, simply put, is fermentation.
Ingredients in MATR Mince:
Pulses 38% (pea*, lupin*), root vegetables 38% (potato*, beetroot*)gluten-free oats* 19%.
Water, reduced beetroot juice*, salt, thyme*, garlic powder*, mushroom culture.
Quality is at the centre of everything we do at MATR, which is why our product is made from organic ingredients. Organic ingredients are marked with a * on the ingredient list.

When ingredients like vegetables are fermented, a slow transformation takes place. Flavours open up, texture shifts and something entirely new begins to emerge.
At MATR, fermentation is the process that adds the most value to the finished product. We allow mushroom mycelium to bind the individual components together through fermentation. From this process comes the rich texture and umami flavour that are entirely unique to MATR.
MATR Mince is built on nature and its own fermentation process. And it is this slow development of both flavour and texture that makes our product like nothing else on the market.

Trying MATR for the first time and not sure how you should cook it? Our Mince is designed to be straightforward to handle in the kitchen and takes just a few minutes to prepare.

Fry our MATR Mince
Fry the Mince over medium-low heat in a little neutral oil. Leave it in the pan for 2 to 3 minutes until it develops a rich, full texture.
Warm MATR in the oven
Alternatively, you can warm the mince in the oven at 165°C for 10 minutes. Turn it halfway through to ensure even cooking.
When frying traditional mince, it is common for it to lose its structure and juiciness along the way. But with MATR Mince you will not experience this in the kitchen.
Our mince holds its full, hearty form even under heat. The mushroom mycelium acts as an invisible network running through the product, binding everything together across its structure so it never loses its character. So your MATR Mince keeps its rich, juicy texture whether it's fried in a pan or stirred into a hot stew.
MATR Mince pairs naturally with many of the everyday dishes you already know and love. It's a product that finds its way into a lot of kitchens and onto a lot of plates.

Plant-based meat is food made from plants, typically designed to resemble and function like meat in terms of flavour, texture and use. It can be made from ingredients such as peas, soy, mushrooms, grains or vegetables.
At MATR we prefer to describe our product as fermented vegetables, because that's precisely what it is. Read more in our article about fermentation.
It depends on the product and your overall diet. Some plant-based mince products are lower in saturated fat and contain no cholesterol, but others can be higher in salt or more heavily processed. There's no straightforward answer, so look for plant-based products with a short ingredient list.
MATR is made from fermented vegetables, providing protein, energy and a low fat content. It is a simple and effective way to add a vegan product to your diet.
Some products are ultra-processed, particularly those with long ingredient lists and numerous additives. Others, like MATR, are simpler and made from just a few ingredients. It varies considerably from product to product, so look for a short ingredient list without a long string of E-numbers. That is usually a reliable indicator of how heavily processed something is.

Fermented vegetables can be part of a healthy diet. They often contain naturally occurring microorganisms and can contribute variety to what you eat. The effect depends on the product and how much you consume.
MATR is made from fermented vegetables and contains no unnecessary additives, so it fits comfortably alongside an otherwise healthy diet and lifestyle.
Fermentation is a natural process in which microorganisms such as bacteria or fungi transform ingredients over time. Fermented food changes in flavour, texture and shelf life as the process unfolds. A few well-known examples include sauerkraut, kimchi and yoghurt.
